Exciting times!

Well, last weekend was my craft fair at UNLV and I'm happy because it went pretty well. Everyone was impressed with the organization of it and the weather was amazing. We didn't get as much foot traffic as I thought we would, I think UNLV thought we would get the same numbers as last year so they didn't really go out of their way for publicity so we actually had low numbers. Other problem was that there were a bunch of other activities that weekend, the Boulder City arts fair happened and I think there was a henderson crafts festival. But it was my first one and I think it went very well for that. Everyone loved the location(I knew they would) because we were under all the huge trees at UNLV and it really is a great campus. So I might plan a fall festival, we will see how that goes.

Here is my display, I love the wood.

My new Waterlily design was eye catching.

My mom did fall stuff, and the cute bunnies up front with interchangeable ears.

My sister judy did GORGEOUS dresses for babies out of onesies, I'll put a link to her blog on here.

Look at the ruffles!

Our beautiful location, the trees are amazing.

So other ideas in the works. I want to start up a business. It would be an art studio/school. I will offer all kinds of art classes for children and adults. It is great as an after school class, a preschool class in the morning, and adult evening classes. There will also be open studio time where you can reserve space to work on your own projects if you don't have room at home. If you bring your own supplies it is one price, if you want to use my supplies it is a little more. You can register for month long classes or you can do drop in classes. We will also have a play area set up so little people can play there while the parents work on projects. Overall I think it is a really great idea. My aunt says they have places like this in portland and they do really well. I think it would be good for Vegas. Now I have to look into the numbers of it, do a little number crunching to figure out how much I would need to make, how much to start it up etc. I'm also looking into locations. Luckily there is an abundance of commercial space available so you can get a place for a cheaper price now, but for the space I need it would still be a little expensive. Oh well, you have to try it before you can give up on it. :)

  1. Good job with the Fair! Those hair bows look amazing! You crafty, crafty lady :) I LOVE the idea of the art studio. I've always wanted to go to a place like that.... I want to paint, but I've never had any classes and that would be ideal.

  3. Wow, I love your bows and the onesie dresses are super cute! I'll have to check out your sis blog for sure. I'm so impressed you organized all that. The art studio thing sounds like a great idea, especially having a place your kids can play while you do it. That's my biggest problem. Good luck!
